Agents of Grace

Those who serve You will become channels of grace to the world.

I will be used by You to touch humanity –

To treat others better than they deserve,

            To return kindness for evil,

To show mercy in return for injustice.

My hands will be used to reach out to others

            To do Your work –

To serve, to make another’s life easier,

To willingly give when there is need,

            To lift up the weak.

My mouth will be used to speak good

and not evil of others –

To say a kind word, to cheerfully share another’s burden.

To leave praise in its path, not discouragement or criticism.

To lift up and not tear down.

My eyes will be used to give a tender look –

To see only good in Your children,

            To overlook mistakes

            To show my brother love.

My heart will reflect Your goodness –

It will cover the sins of another, forgive wrongs,

Elevate every person, give the benefit of doubt,

Believe only the very best of others,

Accept unconditionally, in spite of belief,

            Personality, or station in life.

Please give me this honor.

Make me an agent of Your grace.

“All men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.” John 13:35

Thank you for reminding us of “the whole duty of man”

This was exactly what I preached about this morning–only said much better than I did. I was here in Lincoln at Northside Church. Had a great time–but missed being with you and Ron at College View.

Wow! That’s a “tall order.” After thinking about it, I realized it’s an expanded version of the Golden Rule. (Leave it to a woman to give the expanded version.) (-:) Thank you, Buffy, for encouraging me to examine how I measure up to the standard Jesus set for us. It’s good to do a soul search. Painful, but good. Then again, if we don’t recognize the problem, how are we going to make the needed changes? Thank you, Jesus, for believing in me and seeing me as the person I can become through You.

The golden rule, the greatest commandment, the beatitudes, and finally the sheep and the goats of Matt. 25:31 All had the oportunity to help others! One group said Lord if we had only known it was you! And the other group was suprised that there natural reaction, their love for poeple, caring for the needs around them was in reality caring for Jesus. Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of these is love!
Do we believe it? Do we live it so loud it can’t be ignored?
Where do we put the effort?
    In abiding with Jesus daily.
What will be the result? All of the above!
    Thanks Buffy.
